Following the bankruptcy of Ives in 1928, Ives was jointly purchased by Lionel and American Flyer who continued Ives production as a joint venture, many products being issued using parts from all three manufacturers during what is known as the transition era. By 1930, Lionel had purchased American Flyer's share of Ives, closed the Ives factory in Bridgeport and transferred all manufacturing to Lionel's New Jersey plant. Lionel issued entry level trains in 1933 as Lionel-Ives, the Ives name being dropped the following year when entry level sets became Winner Lines then, Lionel Junior followed by 027 in 1937. The Lionel-Ives name appeared in a Lionel catalog (1933?), but is not known to have appeared on any product.
