Established circa 1917 by Joseph D Kilgore, Kilgore Manufacturing Company specialised in smaller, cheaper toys usually supplied via Dime Stores, the range including cap guns, kites, doll house furniture and accessories, and cast iron banks, cars and trucks. Cast iron floor trains were manufactured 1928 to 1934. By 1935, Kilgore was using Bakelite and other early plastics to manufacture household items using the Shel-Glo name. Kilgore ceased trading during 1960.
