Heinrich Wimmer of Nuremberg was a trader in used machine tools and ironmongery, who began toy production during 1920, manufacturing clockwork powered road vehicles and aircraft together with, from 1933, tanks and military vehicles. Following WWII, Wimmer produced both 0 and H0 model railways including locomotives, passenger and freight vehicles, buildings and accessories. Heinrich Wimmer retired 1969, his son Ernst continuing the company until 1976.
