House of Duddy was the business of Edward 'Ed' Martin Duddy Jr who passed away September 2013. Ed Duddy was an ex Marine who served in Korea and spent his final days in a military care home. House of Duddy specialised in electric locos such as PRR GG1s, and all the parts such as pantographs and overhead wires associated with running overhead equipped locomotives.

The box label illustrated below clearly shows the House of Duddy ID plate which also appears on the model. The plate shows the Duddy Clan Coat of Arms, the Latin text wording (left) Virtus ipsa (centre) suis firmissima (right) nititur armis, which translates as Courage itself stands firmest on its own arms, or Bravery is best sustained by arms.
This is the ancestral coat of arms and motto of the Irish Dubhda clan, which is the historical origin of the surname O'Dowd and its variant, Duddy.
