The locomotive illustrated below was offered for sale via eBay some years ago, described by the seller as the work of his father, who was an employee at the Meccano factory, Binns Road, Liverpool. The body is the correct gloss green, valve gear is the correct post war version, and at least one driving wheel may once have been red. A hole has been drilled for the key and slots cut in the cab roof for the controls. The description is, however, generally taken with a pinch of salt as the seller apparently did not respond to any requests for further information or photograps.
