The Vilmer Toy Factory (Vilmer Legetøj Fabrik) was created by toolmaker Kaj Christiansen circa 1953, with more than thirty staff by 1960. Vilmer ceased production in 1971, with tooling being sold to Chico Toys in Columbia, and at least one model, a Mercedes, being subsequently made by Metosul in Portugal.
