Kenton Hardware was founded by F M Perkins in 1884, adopting the Kenton Hardware name in 1900. After a series of mergers from 1903, Kenton became independent again in 1920, and continued in business until 1952, assets being sold the following year. The Littletown Hardware and Foundry aquired many Kenton assets, and remained in business until 1982.
