Holgate was established in 1789 as Holgate Brothers, although toy production was not commenced until 1929. Holgate Toys are described as educational, safe and durable wooden toys, and cover a range of toys including road vehicles, trains, clocks, peg people and shape sorters. The road vehicles include various cars, trucks, transporters, fire engines and trollies. Holgate Toys may be dated by reference to the decal or other trademark used.
