Winteringham Limited 0 Gauge

(Northampton, UK)

Winteringham Ltd was best known as the 'manufacturing arm' of Bassett-Lowke, BL themselves being model makers rather than mass production manufacturers. Winteringham Ltd subsequently became Precision Models, and were owned by Trix.

Far more information regarding the company history is available at the Brighton Toy and Model Museum web site.

The Winteringham (WN) track illustrated below shows a hand written price of 4/6 doz (four shillings and six pence a dozen) or 4 1/2d (four and a half old pence) per rail, which is 2/3d for six or 4/6d for twelve. Slightly odd, as the box holds six rails, not twelve. Perhaps six rails is half a circle, as the box does not appear wide enough to hold six rails forming a circle.
