Windsor Models 0 Gauge

(London, UK)

Thanks to Mark C for these comments :

"Windsor Models were active between the mid 1920s and the start of WWII. The company was run by a gentleman by the name of Leslie Forrest, who was a great friend of Norman Eagles, of "Sherwood Section of the LMS" fame, which for those who do not know, was an O gauge clockwork railway constructed and operated by Norman and friends between the 1920s and the late 1980s when Norman passed away. A lot of locomotives, rolling stock and structures were made by Leslie Forrest for the "Sherwood" layout, some as Windsor Models, some in a private capacity."

"I have one of the two catalogues issued by Windsor Models, mine being the second one from 1932. I understand the first was issued in 1930. Their first address was 5 Windsor Road, Denmark Hill, South London, and they moved sometime after the second catalogue was issued to 7a,The Parade, St John's Hill, Clapham Junction. We know they moved after the second catalogue was issued as it is usually found with the new address over stamped on it."

Thanks again, Mark.

An intriguing station building which, again, was offered for sale via eBay, and attributed to Windsor Models. Far from mint condition, but still extremely attractive.
