Phillip Segal Toys

(Christchurch, Hampshire, UK)

Phillip Segal was a producer of lead figures and animals, beginning in 1938 then, after WWII, from 1947 until his early death in 1951. Following the death of Phillip Segal, the tooling was sold and used by other manufacturers. Although the models are Britains in size, they fit in well with tinplate trains of gauges 0 and 1, and include many farm and zoo animals, the Nursery Rhyme series as well as soldiers, cowboys and Indians, footballers and cricketers. The toys were made in Christchurch, which became part of Dorset in 1974.
