Charles Rossignol

France

A French company, dating back to the 1860s, produced floor trains and, pehaps more famously, buses, coaches and road vehicles. CR produced French outline clockwork 0 gauge trains following World War I, to fill the gap left by the German manufacturers. The company later produced electric trains, and continued until 1962. Many sets featured the name Eclair, which translates as Lightning. Earlier items were marked C R Bte France which was later reduced to CR.
