Cabooses

The most obvious difference between 8 wheeled plastic and Deluxe cabooses is the hand rail which is plastic on the 8 wheeled plastic cars, and a separate metal stamping on the Deluxe cars.

Flat Cars

8 Wheel Plastic and Deluxe flat cars are similar, with two major differences. The former are 6 3/8ths inches in length, with seven stake pockets each side whereas the Deluxe cars are 8 1/2 inches long, with nine stake pockets each side.

Plastic 'Scale' Cars

This is a series of eight Marx cars that are 8 wheeled plastic, factory fitted with Type B 3/16 Scale trucks. All cars except the Crane and Tank had heat stamped lettering. The eight cars are, according to Greenberg's Guide to Marx Trains Volume II, Baltimore and Ohio 204 caboose, Cities Service CSOX 2532 tank car, Southern Pacific 1953 caboose, Erie maroon flat car, Santa Fe 13975 stock car, Pennsylvania 347100 gondola, Baltimore and Ohio 467110 box car and New York Central crane (red or grey).
