The Jean Höfler company was founded by three brothers in 1923, although there was a parting of the ways in 1938, the companies merging again in 1953, under the leadership of brother Leonhard. The company switched to plastic production in 1956, and changed the company name to BIG c1960. BIG joined the Simba Dickie Group in 2004.
